Photo 1:
I like the lines from the railing creating a diagonal, then the diagonal from the bike racks with the framing.
Photo 2:
I actually really like how this one turned out. It's not black and white. I like the contrast and I liked this giant branch coming across. I stood right beneath it. I was going for the diagonals but also I loved how the lines stretch throughout the frame.
Photo 3:
I tried to do a leading lines to the light BYU tunnel. I am not super stoked with it.
I wanted to capture the many lines that can be found in a kitchen. The lines from drawers, chairs, and doors.
This turned out pretty sweet. The light was coming in from across the room. The shadows created large lines across the chair.

I like your first and last photos this week. Both have lines but they are so different.
ReplyDeleteThe first has some really nice contrast between the light and dark colors and the horizontal and diagonal lines but also affinity with the horizontal lines and similar color of the railing and trees.
I love the shadows in the last photo; it really shows how stark shadows are the closer they are to a light source and how they soften the farther away they get. Being more critical, I think the framing could have been a little nicer and the color temperature seems cooler than I would like.
The third photo is spectacular for emphasizing shape. I really like how the converging lines bring the viewer to a square, and within the square lies a circle. In my opinion, even though the wall is flat outside the square, the circle makes it look deeper. :)
ReplyDeleteYour second photo is doing some pretty sweet stuff with line. There's also some great contrast going on against the sky, which emphasizes the line and draws our eye across all across the photo. Good job.
